For So Long Now

by Frank Maguire
(England)

For so long now, and many years
We have spent this time apart
Yet still you live, yet still you grow
So deep within my heart
I feel you are a part of me
As in my thoughts you bide
Stirring such a memory
And always by my side

This love I have for you alone
It will never become terse
My darling, you will always be
My world and universe
I see you in the rising moon
When everyday is done
And in the morn, as day it breaks
You are my rising sun

I see your sparkling eyes my love
In the stars and rainbows too
Your smile, it is the brightest sky
Be it grey, or be it blue
I hear your voice upon the wind
As it travels everywhere
The colours in the dale and lea
Reflect your nut brown hair

I smell your fragrance on the rose
And bluebells in the dell
Intoxicating all my mind
With a thirst to never quell
Your silhouette adorns the room
As evening shadows fall
With grace and such an elegance
How my mind reveals it all

I meet you in my sweetest dream
In my slumber every night
Then kiss your lips and hold you
As I hug my pillow tight
I yearn for you when I awake
When I ponder our goodbyes
Remembering our time of love
As teardrops fill my eyes

For so long now, and many years
You will haunt me endlessly
Yet even though we are apart
Our love was meant to be
So wherever I may wander
And in everything I do
For so long now, and many years
I always will love you

Beautiful
by: May

Frank, you may have gathered I'm catching up on adding comments (ill health has meant I've spent so little time on my site for ages now).

But once again - your poem is beautiful. You write the loveliest romantic pieces.

Thanks again for sharing with us.
