From This Window Fife I See ©

(Codsall)
This wee proud piece of Bonnie Scotland,
The copious coast I’ve walked along.
This wee proud piece of Bonnie Scotland,
A feeling for the Kingdom grows strong.
He found love but relinquished plenty,
When National Service called.
His name and connection with the Kingdom,
I’ve re-established and also re-installed.
Dad, if you knew what I had done,
Me, your second son.
I wish I could turn back precious time,
You’d be here in this land that’s more yours than mine.
Sadly for me it cannot be,
I desire for satisfaction not someone’s sympathy.
Dad, if you knew what I had done,
Me, your second son.
I’ve embraced and cherished roots in Fife,
Too late to share with you in life.
Dad, from this window Fife I see,
Yesterday I walked into Dundee.
St Andrews 6.00am I started early in the day.
Step by step to the bridge at 3.00pm I crossed the Tay,
Dad, if you knew what I had done.
Me, your second son.
This wee proud piece of Bonnie Scotland,
The copious coast I’ve walked along.
This wee proud piece of Bonnie Scotland,
A feeling for the Kingdom grows strong.
The Forth Rail Bridge to Leven,
From Leven then to the harbour at Crail.
Crail then on to St Andrews,
Four times to the Kingdom I came to prevail.
Dad, from this window Fife I see,
Yesterday I walked into Dundee.
Dad, if you knew what I had done.
Me, your second son.
From this window Fife I see,
Satisfied that I have walked from North Queensferry to Dundee.
Dad, if you knew what I had done.
Me, …. …… …
