I moved from Methil to Australia in 1964 as a 16 year old after my mother passed away, with my stepdad Peter Thomson, brother Robert Thomson, and 2 sisters Linda & Patsy. We lived at Lilac Bank in Methilhill & last year I found my old house was still standing on Google Earth street view. I started going through my old photos of Methil Primary School.I still remember going to Bennys shop on Kirkland Walk for penny daintys, half puddin suppers from the fish & chip shop on Friday nights, Lightbodys Bakery where we got bags of broken biscuits for a penny, the walks to school in winter arriving soaken wet from to many snowba fights, fishing for Mackerel of the sea wall at Methil docks, the school dinners when you lined up for seconds, and the games of chessies we played in the school yard, its sad to see the old school has gone. Its very hard to keep up connections with friends when your young and unfortunately to late sometimes when you are older. I was wondering if any one remembers us from the good old days.
