Lomond Tavern, Falkland

Lomond Tavern, Falkland

Lomond Tavern, Falkland

The Lomond Tavern is a wee gem of a place in Falkland, Fife, just a short walk from the Palace, in a little side street called 'Horsemarket'. My husband and I pop in now and again for a bite to eat.

It's a nice traditional Scottish pub with paintings of William Wallace and King Robert the Bruce on the walls in the cosy lounge. A main course is under £5 and a three course meal, costs less than £10. They have a standard menu with daily specials, such as roast beef, roast port, salads, lasagne etc. The portions are huge and it's well worth a visit, and if you order coffee - you get a plate of biscuits too. Great value for money.

Great fodder

Amazing portions and veg so fresh and so cheap! The whole pub is very friendly and relaxing despite its internal limitations. Well worth a visit but it might be a good idea to book at the weekends.

I totally Agree!

My husband John and I also eat in the Lomond Tavern regularly. The Landlords are very pleasant and friendly. There's not very many tables and it can get very busy at the weekends especially in the summer, so it's best to book.

But the food is good, and the portions are large, and it's amazing value for money.

Lomond Tavern
by: Robbie Kennedy Bennett

I spent a couple of hours in Falkland in April of this year. I took a photo from the same viewpoint. Half a minute later the landlord approached me and gave me a couple of postcards of the pub. 'How friendly' I thought. It was a shame the Tavern wasn't yet open before I made my journey back home. Falkland was lovely oh aye!
