A Directory of Places to Eat in North Fife
There are so many different types of places to get food throughout North Fife it's hard to know where to start. There are fabulous 'posh' restaurants, some that are not-so-posh, Pizza Houses, Steak Houses, Pubs, Coffee Shops, Tea Rooms and of course a wide variety of Take-Away (or as we Scots call them, 'Carry Outs') establishments. This Page is a Directory for North Fife, but there are also fabulous places to eat in Central Fife (including Glenrothes, Falkland and Kirkcaldy), the East Neuk (including Pittenweem and Anstruther) and of course West Fife (from Kincardine right through to Dunfermline).
If you're a local, you probably have your favourites, and if you're a visitor to St Andrews or other parts of North Fife, you might want to know where to find Restaurants food of your choice. Within these types of Eating Places mentioned above, you'll find a variety of different types of different food from traditional Scottish, General British, Indian, Mexican, Italian, Thai, American, Vegetarian (and sometimes Vegan) and also Organic. Of course seafood is plentiful in Fife and often comes in fresh from the fishing ports of Pittenweem and Anstruther. So there are a number of Fish Restaurants as well as many 'Fish'n'Chip shops (or Chippies) The prices in all of these places can vary from very cheap to pretty expensive, with Take Aways being the Cheapest and sometimes (but not always) restaurants in Hotels being the most expensive, with Pub food usually being value-for-money. If you get the chance do try Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding
