Seals Basking

by Susan
(Inveraray)

Seals Basking

Seals Basking

This photograph was another one I took during my week's break near St Andrews in February a couple of years ago.

We were blessed with glorious weather (cold but sunny) even though it was February, and were able to explore much of the wonderful Fife coastline. We were staying in a self-catering cottage near
St Andrews and went walking up near Tentsmuir Forest and the sandy beach nearby.

On this day, it was the sounds we heard first, and I really wish I had had a zoom lens for this shot. You might not be able to see them too well but the noise they made was amazing - didn't want to get too close for this wee snapshot!

These seals were basking on the sand at Tentsmuir Point(near St Andrews) in the winter sunshine.

This is another good walk along the beach and through Tentsmuir forest, don't miss it. Great place to go if you want to take your dog for a walk.

Once more we find that we have everything in the Kingdom - thanks Susan, this has my 'seal' of approval!

I can almost hear them!
by: May

It would have been nice to have seen a close-up of them, but it's still nice to see the beach and them basking by the waters edge. I know the row they make!

But it shows another part of the Kingdom- the glorious beaches and of course the wildlife.

Maybe someone will send in a close-up of the seals.
