The Elgin, Charlestown

by Jennifer

The Elgin Hotel is a lovely place to eat, it not only has excellent food but a fantastic view of the river Forth. On a sunny day you can sit outside in the beer garden where they encourage families with children with their playpark. Recently when we visited we had high tea which included fish and chips followed by toast, tea and as many cakes as you can manage to eat. The cakes are the best bit, you can indulge in scones, pancakes, sponges, strawberry tarts......... the list goes on and on. Yum.

Thanks Jennifer. I haven't visited the Elgin for years. Sounds like I need to go and taste their lovely food again.
