Woodmill Inn, Dunfermline

by Glenn Neve
(FIFE)

On first impressions the restaurant was very inviting. We were shown to our seats and asked if we would like a drink. The specials were explained and we were left to browse the menu.
That's where it all started to go wrong.
The drink order came and apparently hadn't been listened to. There was diet coke instead of normal and ice when we asked specifically for no ice.
We then both ordered the club sandwich with fries. One without bacon. This arrived one had salad the other did not and they were both burnt to a cinder on the inside of the sandwich which was obviously covered up very carefully. Unfortunately you can't cover up the taste of burnt toast. The fries were obviously refried also.

We tackled the bad taste of the sandwich as we were uncomfortable about complaining, as you hear so many things about chefs adding other unwanted ingredients to returned food. We then commented to the manager when paying for the bill to which we were told "you should have complained earlier there is nothing I can do about it now". She wasn't interested in apologising and when we said we would not be back, all she replied was, "OK"

Needless to say we wouldn't like to recommend the Woodmill Inn for anyone who likes their food.

The Wood Mill, Linburn Road, Dunfermline

by John
(Dunfermline)

I have just read the review on the Wood Mill in Dunfermline regarding the club sandwiches. I am a regular visitor to the Wood Mill and would have no hesitation in recommending this eastablishment to family and friends. I find the review on the club sandwiches hard to believe.

This establishement has recently been taken over and the staff, service and food is even better in my opinion. I eat regularly at the Wood Mill as their food is fresh and cooked to order. I would urge anyone in the area to give this establishment a visit.
