You Keep On Singing Scotland

by Robbie Kennedy Bennett
(Codsall)

A poem for
Homecoming Scotland 2009

Temperature plummeted last night
Aye, it was cold this morning
Out door had a bit of a bite
The sun though in the window is warming

Spring growth of grass on the back lawn
A wee bit thicker each day
Soon the light will be lingering longer
And soon I’ll be wanting away

You keep on singing Scotland
You sing so clear
You keep on singing Scotland
Louder year by year

The wanderer in me is conspicuous
Behaving and being suspicious
Cometh the time near the light night of May
Time I’ll be wanting away

You keep on singing Scotland
Conserving my self counterpart
You keep on singing Scotland
Singing in my heart

The wanderer in me is awaking
Underlying let there be no mistaking
Wanderers shan’t be inactive
Homecoming year is attractive

Homecoming Scotland
by: May

Hi Robbie

Great poem for Homecoming Scotland. Once again your love of Scotland shines through, and I know you've got itchy feet to get back up here again and in particular to visit our beloved Kingdom of Fife again.

Thanks again Robbie.
