I wrote this in a primary 6 classroom in Tormusk Primary in Castlemilk round 1975 for a class project.
The Flannan Isles, off Scotland's coast
Just rocks with stormy waves
And Lighthouse keepers at the most
No beach or sand or caves
Twas on a stormy winter's night
When I heard the eerie tale
Of keepers vanishing out of sight
After a stormy gale
Ducat, McArthur and Marshall too
Were ready to have their tea
When suddenly something drew
Their attention out to sea
The chair it fell as they rushed out
They were ne'er again tae be seen
And there is now a lot of doubt
To what this mystery means
