Old and New Reviews
by: May

Hi Douglas
I kept in the old reviews, but the number of excellent comments since you and Bill took over, only shows the difference in the food and service. If anything it enhances the good reputation of the place NOW! There has been nothing but high praise since you took over

Bill wrote this 'news' which I was happy to publish on the site
http://www.scotlands-enchanting-kingdom.com/wood-mill-restaurant-dunfermline1.html

I have never been able to try out the place personally due to ongoing I'll health, but I do follow you on Facebook.

The 'old' reviews, to me, shows how different the place has become under the watchful eye of you, Bill and your team

Kind regards

May

Delete the reviews of previous management
by: Douglas Robertson

I feel it is extremely unfair for this website to display negative reviews of this establishment that were generated from the previous Tennents.

We took over the business in April 2010 and have more than trebled the food sales since then. The Wood Mill is now one of the busiest independent restaurants in this part of Scotland, we can do 150 covers for breakfast before 12noon at the weekend.

Our new menu offers freshly prepared and cooked dishes, made from local and Scottish produce. We offer meals ranging from £6 for a BLT to £30 for a Surf & Turf.

I would just like to cointribute to the comments in support of the Woodmill.

Although we had used the Woodmill for some of our previous workshop seminars, the new management have exceeded themselves in providing us with a warm and friendly welcome.

Over and above this Douglas and his staff have met all our needs and have gone the extra mile that we promote to our clients through our business training sessions.

I would not hesitate in reccomending the Woodmill for the purposes of sessions, a place to socialise and eat.

How old is this review?
by: Anonymous

I can't see an obvious date on this review, so how do I know it's still valid (other than looking at the comment dates for clues)?
It should be clear what date a review refers to.

I'm afraid you'll need to contact the Inn owners/managers themselves for this information.

WOODMILL INN 2010
by: sb220610

I have visited Woodmill a few times since the changeover and feel the negative comments may not be meant for the new management. My visits have been excellent, from the welcome, service, food to the bill. If you have not visited, please give it a try, well worth it.
It is unfair that new owners have aged negative feedback because the restaurant has not changed names from previous owners.

Great Atmosphere, Excellent Food
by: Caitlin

Our party arrived and got a great welcome from the young man at front of house. The small details like having some fresh flowers on your table and that all tables were already set makes a good impression. All of our table of five got different starters which arrived promptly. We were more than happy to have a small breather and take time to chat before our main course arrived and as all the food is freshly prepared we were absolutely delighted with the quality and portions of the food. Fabby macaroni and great fish! Keep up the good work will be back.
New ownership of this family friendly restaurant certainly seems to be working.

Very Good
by: Margaret

I have heard negative reviews about this place,,,and although I live local I had never eaten there until tonight,,,,I did hear that ownership had changed hands. I don't know who had it, who has it now or when the change over was but, I have to say the customer service was excellent, the food was fantastic as were the prices, I recommend this place to anyone, very much so, fantastic, keep it up. I'll certainly be back. Thank you Woodmill Inn.

Excellent
by: Nikki

I think the person who had the bad food above must have been on a bad day as I've eaten here almost every week for the last 4 months and it has always been excellent. The setting is lovely and love the menu. The only downside is the owner needs to learn to smile and show a little customer service or else just not be there. I'm not the first one to notice this but overall brilliant.

Lovely Gardens-shame about the food!
by: Mags Jill & Vicky

Myself and two friends ate at this inn on Wednesday the 12th of August and were really disappointed with the quality of the food. The cajun chicken was so so, but the chicken stuffed with haggis and bacon was really really tough hardly any haggis and no bacon in it. The potatoes had obviously been micro-waved and were gritty- very disappointing. The table was sticky
and when the waitress brought fresh drinks she left the empty glasses on the table. The two waitresses had a conversation going between bars which meant a lot of shouting - not very professional! On a plus note - the toilets were spotless. Would not recommend this eaterie to any one.

Lovely, Inviting and Friendly Establishment
by: Brian

I am a regular visitor to the Wood Mill and find the review about the club sandwiches hard to believe. Complaining about getting the drinks mixed up is a bit petty, and if you don't say you are not happy with your food when it arrives (and I know that staff at the Wood Mill always come and ask the customer if everything is ok) then what do you expect the Manager to say when you complain when paying for your meal. The food is freshly cooked and always well presented. This establishment is now under new management and I have to say I see a vast improvement in the staff, the establishment and the food. I would recommend the Wood Mill as one of the best eating areas around its area especially if you prefer freshly cooked meals rather than fast microwaved meals as some establishments in the same area serve.

Hi Mandy
Thanks for your review. Now we've got one negative and one positive review. Hopefully other folk will leave their comments too. But you can only speak as your find! Maybe I should try it one day I'm in Dunfermline area.

wonderful
by: mandy smith

My husband and I had our wedding reception here and the staff made every effort to ensure all went well. The food was great and the buffet (even on a budget) was perfect. We often go to the Woodmill (as we are in about an hour) for a treat to ourselves as we both work hard all week.
I have only once complained and the chef who cooked my meal at that time no longer works there so no more complaints. We have always been happy with the service and are always welcomed warmly by the staff. I recommend the Woodmill to anyone who asks for a decent eating place.

Challenging Review
by: May

Hi Glenn
Thanks for the Review. Certainly not the best in the world. I haven't been to this establishment - so can't comment one way or the other. It'll be interesting to see if anyone else comes in with a similar review or maybe they've had a better experience.
Thanks for sharing Glenn.
