New Bridge

by Ian Sloan Photography
(Glenrothes)

New Bridge

New Bridge

This spectacular new bridge spans the River Leven and Glenrothes Town Park. The Architect of the bridge is Adrian Welch B.Arch (Hons) Dip Arch RIBA ARIAS Architect, Writer & Website Editor

Adrian was born in 1971 Kincardineshire, northeast Scotland and attended Banchory Academy from 1981 to 1989. He completed his Architecture degree in 1992.

Glenrothes is a modern town right bang in the middle of Fife. It only developed as a town from the late 1940's - but is in such contrast to so many of the older towns and villages and Fife. It is full of modern new buildings.

The Kingdom of Fife also has some lovely streams and rivers and the River Leven runs through parts of the town of Glenrothes. This 'new' bridge, which is of very modern design stands proudly, being seen from various points around the town.

It is an unusual shape and of course is in great contrast to the Forth Rail Bridge and indeed all the other bridges which get you into the Kingdom.
It doesn't span a great distance - but is still a spectacular sight, and if you like architecture of every sort, do go and have a look at this bridge.

Amazing!
by: May

I think this is another picture that shows how diverse the \Kingdom of Fife is. At the top of the page, we see the famous and majestic Forth Rail Bridge, yet here we have a totally different bridge, modern and very 20th century.

Thanks for sharing this Ian.
