The Dream

by Ian Sloan Photography
(Glenrothes)

The Dream

The Dream

As mentioned in other photographs, the modern town of Glenrothes in Central Fife, has a whole series of amazing modern sculptures dotted around the town and inside the town centre.

Each artist has their own unique style and each piece of work tells a story, or portrays some fact or lovely thought.

Malcolm Robertson is the sculptor of this much admired work. It symbolises the friendship of young people regardless of race or background. It is situated near Church Street, opposite Glenrothes Town Centre.

It is certainly true that young children don't usually have the same prejudice that adults develop unless they are 'taught' it. This represents something of real value.

One of my favourites
by: Captain Pugwash

I remember when I first saw this sculpture I immediately liked it. It just has something magical about it.

Set in a garden area, yet next to the busy road and bus station it has a way of calming the spirit and reminding one of the important things of life - that is our common humanity and basic human desire to live together. This is perfectly expressed by these children holding hands in an unbroken circle.

As you walk around Glenrothes you often come across such sculptures hidden away which surprise and delight the spirit.

Great Photo

I Love this sculpture - it is one that is so pleasing to the eye, but I think the 'message' is very meaningful.
Thanks for sharing it.
