Kilts for children
by: May

Hi Faith-Ann
Many thanks for your question. Sorry it's taken me a couple of days to get back to answer it. Thanks too for sharing your photograph. You look really nice.

I've seen kilts for tiniest children, and I enquired of a Kilt shop in St Andrews to see just what they provided.

They offer kilts for wee ones from
0 - 1 years - and here the waist is usually 8", length 11.5"
1 - 2 years - the waist is 9", length 13"
and of they therefore have kilts for 3 - 4 year olds and above.

However to buy some of these kilts, there is sometimes a limitation on the tartans eg that store only had some ' off the peg' ones in the Black Watch, Heritage of Scotland, Scottish National. But if you wanted a specific tartan, I'm sure any kiltmaker would be able to do it for you.

You could have a wee look at their website (although I understand it is not yet complete ... but it might give you some ideas.

The Scottish Shop

Hope that helps.

Kind regards

May
