The Wee Restaurant

by F. Kerr
(Edinburgh)

I've been to this restaurant many times for lunch and dinner, also going to their monthly wine tasting evenings on occasion and have always enjoyed it. The food is great, the best mussels I have ever tasted! They have a small but well formed menu, and it is exceptional value for lunch at £14.75 for 2 courses and £18.50 for 3 courses. The staff are very friendly and the whole atmosphere is relaxed. The food is generally local and seasonal with a French slant to the menu. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to everyone, but you need to book in advance because as the name suggests it is very small with only 10 tables.

It is in North Queensferry and has a train station only 5 minutes walk away so we like to take the train and sample the wine list too! It can be a little difficult to park at times, but it is worth the journey.

Hope you enjoy it as much as me.
