Cloudy in Collessie ©

by Robbie Kennedy Bennett
(Codsall)

Strawmoor Lane a thistle grows
I drift to somewhere far away
Is it cloudy in Collessie this fine day

Cloudy in Collessie
Clear sky o’er Kirkcaldy
Largo, I ask if all is well quayside
By the Crusoe hotel
Is it cloudy in Collessie this fine day

Here, in Codsall Staffordshire
I rest in a favoured place
Where grass and trees flow in the breeze
And a view to Cannock Chase

Always watching the weather
Bringing two localities together
Adrift in meditation far away
Is it cloudy in Collessie this fine day

Crail I recall your dawning sky
Sun rays glistening dancing by
Is it cloudy in Collessie this fine day

Although I’m here in Staffordshire
Curiosity is at play
As the overwhelming tide
Resides around St Andrews Bay
Is it cloudy in Collessie this fine day

Cloudy in Collessie
Clear sky o’er Kirkcaldy
Largo, I ask if all is well quayside
By the Crusoe hotel
Is it cloudy in Collessie this fine day

In Elie are they expecting rain
I’m painting pictures once again
Is it cloudy in Collessie this fine day

Cloudy in Collessie
Clear sky o’er Kirkcaldy
Adrift in meditation far away
Is it cloudy in Collessie this fine day

Floods in Ladybank
by: Robbie Kennedy Bennett

Hello May,

Thank you once again for your kind comments. Regarding the recent rain in Fife, I noticed a picture of a flooded road in my Dad's village of Ladybank in yesterdays paper. Keep up the good work.

Fife & Staffs unite
by: May

Hi Robbie
Thanks for sharing this poem too. I think there is no doubt at all that Fife is 'In Your Blood'. Your love for the Kingdom shows through all the time.

As I write this the sun is shining ( I live just a few miles from Collessie) - but we've had horrendous rain and some of Fife's roads have been flooded. So, hopefully - there will no more clouds today and the roads will be clear.

So, thanks again Robbie for sharing your work with us. Hope the sun is shining where you are.

May
