Growing up in the "Brig"

by Helen Campbell
(Tasmania Australia)

I was born in St Andrews at Craigtoun Hospital in 1949, and grew up in Guardbridge. Many memories of my time there from looking for tadpoles in the Motray to getting primroses up the "Big Den", collecting the eggs from the farm at Kincaple and pinching the local vegies from the fields. What happy times strawberry picking on Mr Farmers property at Balmullo and tattie picking during the October 2 week break.I am now in Tasmania Australia and after living in Australia for over 40 years I guess I can say that I have got used to the Aussie life. My memories will always be happy ones from home. Anyone wishing to contact me on bearclan@entacom.com.au from the Brig I would be most happy to hear from.
