Wee BATESY ''Bhaby''

by Johnny Bates
(Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Scotland)

When the sky tane yer light a wis left in the dark,
An ma fire gets cawlder, its missin yer spark,
But a know it still burns, lik your ghost in the air,
an yer memory beats wae ma heart, ma despair.

Dae ye watch me fae there an see flames in ma eyes?
Dae the angels sit by ye an hurt when a cry?
Can ye still see the beauty thats strong in ma soul?
Cos a cry for ''YOUR'' beauty an long fur yer hold.

But al wait tae ma time an al see ye again,
But the years that a wait al b fightin yer pain,
An ad gee the whole earth up tae look in yer eyes,
an fly wae the angels that float in yer sky.

That rings my emotional bells
by: Dunc

It's not often I see something that punches me in the heart. This has all the imagery and impact you could ever hope for in a short verse.
Nicely written.
